Facelift

Facelift (rhytidectomy)

Face is the most notisable part of a human body. As we age, all of our tissues begin to wrinkle, loosen and sag. A facelift smoothes the loose skin, jowls, and deep folds of the face and neck, tightens and repositions the underlying tissues, removes the excess fat and redundant skin.

Facelifting – the incisions usually start in the temporal scalp, extend in front of the upper part of the ear, pass within the ear and then out where the earlobe joins the cheek, and extend upward in the crease behind the ear. Also a small incision is made beneath the chin, to permit a better access for reshaping fat and muscles of the chin and neck. The skin is lifted from the face and neck through these incisions, the soft tissues are lifted separately, repositioned as necessary and fixed, and the skin is then redraped and resected according to the individual case of the patient. For better results this surgery can be combined with a liposuction of chin or cheeks and also a blepharoplasty.
